211 New Jersey provides referrals to health and human service programs throughout the state.  They operate 24 hours a day, and has translation services for over 200 languages.   To contact them dial 211, text your zip code to 898-211, email them at info@nj211.org  or to to their website at w.nj211.org 

MorrisSussexResourceNet.org  provides information about support, resources and services for families in Morris and Sussex Counties. 

Immigrant Rights in NJ

Every person who lives or visits New Jersey has rights, regardless of immigration or citizenship status. 

What should I do in an encounter with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) Agents:

  • Carry valid US Government Identification Documents with you at all times.
  • If you have valid immigration documentation, carry it with you,
    • including your employment authorization card,
    • copies of I-94s
    • copies of Notices to Appear.
  • Do not carry false or fraudulent documents.
In a Public Place:

 Immigration agents do not need a warrant to enter a public place.

  • You may ask to see their badge/identification.
  • If you do not know they are ICE, you may ask what agency they represent.
  • You may ask if you are free to leave.
  • You have the right to remain silent. 
  • If you are not a US citizen, they may ask for your immigration papers. You must show them if you have them with you.
    • If you do not have your documentation, you may say you choose to remain silent.
    • You may say you want to consult a lawyer before answering questions.
    • Never show false or fraudulent documents to a police officer or ICE agent.
  • If they ask for permission to search you, you may say no.
    • If they search you without permission, do not resist.
    • You may say you do not consent to be searched.
  • You have the right to request an interpreter.
At Home:
  • You may ask to see their badge/identification, and if they are immigration agents.
  • You may ask why they are there.
  • They must have a valid warrant to enter. You may ask to see it (under the door/held up to window).
  • If the warrant is issued by a court and signed by a judge in US District Court or State Court, they may enter.
  • Administrative Warrants signed by Dept. of Homeland Security or Forms I-200 or I-205 are not judicial warrants.
    • You do not have to permit them entry with administrative warrant.
    • They can enter in an emergency, threat to public safety, threat to life.
    • If they force entry,
      • do not resist.
      • You may ask for interpreter.
      • You may say you do not consent, you want to remain silent, you want legal counsel.
If You Are Detained:
  • Do not try to resist arrest.
  • You have the right to ask to speak to an attorney.
  • You have the right to request an interpreter.
  • You do not have to:
    • say anything,
    • sign anything,
    • agree to anything,
    • without understanding it,
    • before speaking with an attorney.

Zufall Behavioral Health

Zufall Behavioral Health offers affordable behavioral health services to individuals who are medical patients at the health center and are referred by a Zufall medical provider. A variety of behavorial and mental health issues can be addressed by this program including anxiety, drespression, domestic violence, and PTSD.

Crisis Intervention
